Stuart AppleyardThis can already be done. I've had my bathroom electric towel rail controlled by a Neo Stat in the timing mode for nearly two years. It's mounted outside the room next to the Neo Stat for the underfloor heating. It's wired through the stud wall to a switched fused spur next to towel rail. Do not exceed the current rating of the Neo Stat.

Alan AmbroseYeah it's already there. You need to use a simple flex outlet plate inside the bathroom and a fused spur and RCD positioned outside the bathroom. I use neoStat-e's for that purpose (chosen for the high current rating) and now have 4 towel rails controlled. Just use the room temperature and a morning and evening schedule - I don't bother to heat the towel rails when summer temperatures are over 25 C. The temperature of the rail itself is irrelevant as they all seem to be low enough power to self limit.
